North American Waterfowl Management Plan (NAWMP)
An international strategy to restore waterfowl populations through habitat protection, restoration, and enhancement signed by the Canadian Minister of the Environment and the United States & Secretary of the Interior in 1986. With its update in 1994, Mexico became a signatory to the NAWMP.

U.S. Shorebird Conservation Plan (USSCP)
A partnership involving organizations throughout the United States committed to the conservation of shorebirds. The USSCP is a coordinated national initiative for shorebird conservation.

Partners in Flight (PIF)
A broad-based conservation initiative that has developed land bird conservation priorities and habitat conservation plans for physiographic areas throughout the United States.

North American Waterbird Conservation Plan (NAWCP)
A realtively new initiative that focuses on the conservation of waterbirds across the continent.
