The Mobile Bay Initiative area includes Mobile and Baldwin Counties along the Alabama coast extending eastward from the Mississippi-Alabama border to Perdido Bay on the Alabama-Florida border and inland. The goal of the initiative is to provide wintering and migration habitat for scaup, canvasbacks, and numerous dabbling duck species. The Mobile Bay Initiative Plan focuses on the three major waterfowl habitats available including coastal marsh (emergent vegetated wetlands), submerged aquatic vegetation, and forested wetlands.
